Superior Releases New Tandem Screen Portable Plant

Morris, Minn. — Superior Industries, Inc., a U.S. based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, has launched a new portable plant configuration—the Tandem Guardian® Screen Plant. The unit, which includes both a primary and secondary screen, gives operators more options for processing material and expands an application’s potential tons per hour produced.

Superior engineers designed the Guardian Horizontal Screen with a number of unique features to improve usability and maintenance.

  • Patent pending bottle jack lifting points simplify and speed spring replacement and improve safety.
  • A segmented belt guard and sectioned tailgate greatly lighten the loads of these two features, requiring only one person to remove and return the guards and gates during maintenance.
  • Exclusive to Superior, and new to the industry, are bolt-locking, hinged access doors. The convenient feature allows access for screen media maintenance and hinges prevent operators from misplacing the spillage-preventing doors.
  • A 100% fully-enclosed belt guard ensures maximum safety while an integrated, onboard tensioner accelerates maintenance to the motor belt.

The unit’s screens are designed with extended top deck discharge lips for accurate material transfer onto cross conveyors. The plant includes two 7 x 20 triple deck screens, each with 50 HP, 1200 RPM motors. Custom sizes are available.

Superior to Debut Exterra® Secondary Belt Cleaner at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017

Morris, Minn. — Superior Industries, Inc., a U.S. based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, is expanding its line of Exterra Belt Cleaners with a new secondary model. Designed for straightforward, quick conveyor installations, the Exterra Secondary Belt Cleaner will debut at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017. Trade show attendees will be able to view the cleaner from March 7-11 at Superior’s booth (#C31955) in Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The Exterra Secondary Belt Cleaner will debut alongside a number of new equipment from Superior. “We’re excited to show the industry a lot of new products. We really work hard to be a solutions provider, to bring products to the market that solve a problem,” says Matt Wulf, Superior’s components operations manager.

Segmented into 3” urethane chunks with tungsten carbide tops, the belt cleaner’s blade is engineered for long life and efficient material shedding. Superior’s design allows the blade segments to individually conform to the belt for effective cleaning. Additionally, the cleaner’s blade angle is adjustable to accommodate mechanical and vulcanized splices.

The Exterra Secondary Belt Cleaner is designed for belt widths of 18”-72” (457 mm – 1828 mm) and belt speeds up to 1,000 FPM (5.1 m/sec).

Superior Expands Washing Equipment Offering, Releases New Sand Plant

related product Spirit® Sand Plant by Superior Industries

Morris, Minn. — Superior Industries, Inc., a U.S. based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, has added another solution for sand production and fines recovery to its growing product portfolio, the Spirit® Sand Plant. The unit’s configuration includes a cyclone, dewatering screen, sump tank, and slurry pump to classify and produce salable manufactured sand.

According to Superior engineers, the incorporated hydrocyclone is designed with longer-lasting materials. For example, 12-inch and 16-inch models are manufactured with 100% cast urethane of 3/8-inch to 1-inch thickness. The material is lighter and easier to handle than steel in addition to having better wear properties. The 24-inch and 36-inch models are built with structural steel, but incorporate a poured urethane liner.

Each cyclone is designed with a unique geometrically efficient offset feed. This design eliminate inefficient turbulence, boosts the preciseness of classification and reduces wear to components. Additionally, HDPE piping throughout the system is said to be lighter and easier to handle than steel while providing longer wear life.

The dewatering screen on the Spirit Sand Plant helps producers achieve moisture content in their product as low as 8%. The dewatering screen’s deep sloped bed design encourages material flow and reduces corrosion.

For sand production, Spirit Sand Plants are manufactured in four models with outputs ranging from 60-200 TPH. For ultra fines recovery (UFR), Superior designs three models with water outputs of 1500-3500 GPM. The Spirit Sand Plant is designed to be containerized for international shipping.
