Portable Crushing & Screening: Hopkins Sand & Gravel

Location Amery, WI
Industry Aggregates: Sand & Gravel

The Challenge: Production on the Move

Hopkins relies on portable aggregate processing equipment to keep production moving across multiple jobsites. With crews relocating as many as 10 to 12 times per year, every move requires equipment that can be broken down, transported and brought back online efficiently.

Beyond mobility, the operation needs a reliable crushing and screening process that  produce finished material consistently. Troubleshooting equipment issues can also consume valuable time, making accessible controls and early problem detection important to keeping production on track.

For Hopkins, the challenge was finding a portable plant that combined the best material processing, quick relocation and dependable support.

The Solution: Built to Move, Designed to Perform

Hopkins turned to Superior Industries and dealer Rock Machinery for a portable crushing and screening plant designed around productivity and ease of operation.

Hydraulic run-on jacks and folding conveyors allow the cone plant to be compacted and prepared for transport with minimal effort. Once on site, material moves through a feeder and jaw crusher before reaching a Superior Guardian® 6x20 Screen Plant. Oversized material is directed to a Patriot® P400 Cone Crusher, then returned to the screen for further sizing. Finished material measuring one inch or less is conveyed to stockpiles.

Superior's Vantage® Automation simplifies plant operation with an intuitive touchscreen interface, putting equipment information, diagnostics and controls at operators' fingertips. Built-in safeguards help identify potential issues before they become major problems.

The Results: Less Downtime, More Confidence

For Hopkins, the portable plant delivers the flexibility to move between jobsites while maintaining an efficient crushing and screening process. Hydraulic features simplify teardown and transport, helping crews prepare for the next location without unnecessary delays.

Vantage® Automation has also made troubleshooting easier. Instead of searching through electrical components to identify problems, operators can access information directly from the touchscreen. Built-in safeguards provide additional visibility into equipment performance, helping crews recognize potential issues before they escalate.

Just as important is the partnership behind the equipment. Rock Machinery and Superior share a commitment to responsive service, available parts and practical answers. That support has helped Hopkins build a lasting relationship with the team and the confidence to keep coming back.
