How this estimate is calculated +
A 25% increase in average service life means approximately 20% fewer replacements in an otherwise comparable population over time. It does not mean the same percentage reduction in cost.
Labor per replacement
Workers × labor rate × minutes per roll ÷ 60
Modeled replacements per year
Current annual replacements ÷ 1.25
Annualized cost difference
Current annual replacement cost − modeled annual replacement cost
Each annual cost equals annual replacements × (roll price + labor per replacement). The configured life assumption drives every calculation. No intermediate values are rounded; displayed money is rounded to whole dollars. Fractional replacement counts represent averages, not partial rolls.
Assumptions, limitations & privacy +
This calculator is an illustrative comparison using customer-entered values and an assumed 25% increase in average whole-roll service life. It is not a warranty or guarantee of product life, replacement frequency, or cost savings. The assumption must be appropriate for the products and application being compared.
The model assumes a comparable installed roll population, unchanged operating hours and conditions, consistent replacement practices, and unchanged labor time, crew size, and hourly labor cost per replacement. Current and comparison roll purchase prices are assumed equal unless a different price is entered. Annual replacement counts should exclude additions for expansion.
Annualized results describe an average-over-time comparison after the modeled product is in service. They do not predict individual failures, the timing of purchases, or savings during a gradual transition from existing products. Historical replacements driven by impact, shell wear, damage, or scheduled changeouts may not reflect a benefit from improved sealing.
Actual results may be higher or lower, including no savings, depending on application, installation, contamination, maintenance, causes of replacement, and actual costs. Labor value represents calculated person-hours and does not necessarily reduce payroll or other cash expenditures. Downtime, production, energy, freight, taxes, financing, inflation, and other costs are excluded unless already included consistently in the entered purchase prices or labor rates. Applicable written product warranties are unchanged.
