Long-term Partners Broaden Dealer/Manufacturer Relationship

Morris, Minn. – Superior Industries, Inc., a US-based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, is excited to announce a growing partnership with its longest serving equipment dealer. General Equipment & Supplies, Inc. — who purchased their first Superior conveyor way back in the early 1980s — will represent Superior’s full-line of equipment in two more states: Minnesota and North Dakota. A full-line dealer carries all of Superior’s crushing, screening, washing and conveying equipment plus parts.

“Since General Equipment’s home office is less than 100 miles from our Minnesota headquarters, this proximity has encouraged a constant exchange of ideas that have significantly improved our company,” says John Garrison, Superior’s vice president of sales. “We’re all very excited to expand our partnership in the region, which will create so many more positive opportunities for our customers, employees and all of their families.”

Just like our existing partnership in Nebraska and Iowa, General Equipment will sell, service and support Superior’s crushing, screening, washing and conveying equipment in Minnesota and North Dakota as well. Superior’s diverse, American-made product portfolio includes jaw, cone, HSI and VSI crushers; horizontal, inclined and grizzly feeding vibratory equipment; scrubbing, classifying, washing and dewatering solutions; plus unloading, transferring and stacking conveyors including the manufacturer’s famous TeleStacker® Conveyor.

“Superior has attracted many key industry engineers to their business, which is greatly advancing their product offering, quality and support,” says Don Kern, vice president of the dealer’s aggregates equipment sales. “They have diligently maintained an American-made, family-oriented, customer first philosophy that competing manufacturers have forgotten about.”

General Equipment and Supplies invested in their first Superior brand conveyor during the fall of 1982. It was a small 24” x 75’ radial stacker. Since then, the equipment dealer has ordered almost 2,500 more Superior manufactured machines including the largest buyer of TeleStacker Conveyors in the world. While the numbers are impressive, Superior says it shows General Equipment is exceptionally committed to having iron on the ground when their customers call.

Today, General Equipment & Supplies has ten branches throughout four Midwestern states. They boast a massive inventory of machinery and parts, dozens of skilled service technicians and an in-house financing department.

Superior Will Debut 11 New Jaw Crusher Models At CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020

Morris, Minn. – Superior Industries, Inc., a U.S. based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, will add almost a dozen new models of jaw crushers at booth C31389 during CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020. It’s one of a dozen new products the company will introduce during the Las Vegas trade show in March.

“We designed this jaw to have an aggressive nip angle,” says Grant Holmes, a crushing engineer at Superior. “This design reduces the possibility of rocks not gripping properly and boiling above the chamber. As long as the rock fits, it’s going to be crushed.”

Other features to look for at CONEXPO-CON/AGG include:

  • Mid-mount base frame design ensures a compact installation, which is ideal for portable and track plant applications.
  • Barrel liner protects the bearings and pitman housing and is uniquely replaceable when worn.
  • Pitman shaft is CNC-machined to improve strength and reliability of the hardest working component of the crusher.
  • Fiberglass drive guard is designed for a single crew member to remove to speed and simplify maintenance.

These new bolted designs have a total capacity range of 110 – 1,595 tons per hour (100 – 1,450 MTPH). Feed openings start at 20″ x 55″ (508×1,397mm) to 59″ x 78″ (1,500 x 2,000mm) with maximum feed sizes up to 47.2″ (1,200mm).

Morris, Minn. – Superior Industries, Inc., a U.S. based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, unveils three new models of its Valor® Vertical Shaft Impact (VSI) crusher at booth C31389 during CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020. It’s one of a dozen new products the company will introduce during the Las Vegas trade show in March.

Available in horsepower units of 250, 400 and 600 (185, 300 and 445 kW), this new belt drive model VSI is manufactured with a hydraulic lid. That allows safer and easier access to the crushing chamber. An open lid is safeguarded by a micro safety switch and safety support arm. An externally-adjusted feeding tube is standard and allows adjustments without opening the crusher. Additional features include a replaceable pedestal-style bearing assembly, vibration protection from an integrated switch and special anti-vibration mounts, plus automation to monitor vibration, oil temperature and oil flow.

Owners and operators can select from a number of options to customize their VSI including several rotors, ports and shoe tables. In addition to the new belt drive model, a gear drive model will be shown in Superior’s booth as well.

Superior Will Unveil New Model Cone Crusher At CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020

It’s one of a dozen new products the company will introduce during the Las Vegas trade show.

Specifically, the P500 model Patriot Cone Crusher is engineered to operate most effectively at 500 horsepower (350 kW). Other specifications unique to the P500 include a head diameter of 59-inches (1,500mm), maximum feed opening of 13.5-inches (343mm) and closed side settings from 3/8 – 2-inches (10-50mm).

Notable features of the P500 model cone include:

  • Inverted or reverse design of tramp relief cylinders ensures the hydraulic seals are not exposed to contamination during operation.
  • Tramp relief system designed with fewer accumulators for less maintenance. An automatic pressure relief valve means additional protection.
  • Universal crushing chamber design requires no major, time-consuming change-outs when transitioning from secondary to tertiary applications.
  • If loss of clamping pressure, counterclockwise countershaft rotation causes crusher to open rather than turn down, which can cause significant damage.

Horizontal Shaft Impactor Joins Superior’s Growing Group of Crushers

Morris, Minn. – Superior Industries, Inc., a U.S. based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, plans to debut its brand new Sentry® Horizontal Shaft Impactor (HSI) at booth C31389 during CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020. It’s one of a dozen new products the company will introduce during the Las Vegas trade show in March.

Using a high speed impacting force, horizontal shaft impactors encourage stones to break along their natural cleavage lines. This generates cubically-shaped material, which is desirable for many of today’s applications.

Superior’s Sentry HSI is designed with a fully-fabricated open-style rotor, which produces low inertia energy for a lower cost of ownership. In addition, proper spacing inside the crusher’s chamber creates more area for processing larger feed sizes. Owners and operators will safely and easily complete maintenance functions of the HSI’s mainframe components via a hydraulically-controlled opening and closing feature.

Other design elements include commonly-shaped side liners, hydraulically-adjusted curtains, mainframe inspection doors and a replacement upper feed opening. One or two piece blow bars manufactured with two or four rotors are equipped with fixed clamping for best performance in hard rock applications.

Superior defines its new line of Sentry HSI’s by rotor size and has 15 models available for manufacturing. Production capacities range from 90 – 990 tons per hour (80 – 900 MTPH) with maximum feed sizes from 15 – 40 inches (400 – 1,000mm).
