Cemco Acquisition Final, Superior Gains Significant Manufacturing Capacity

Morris, Minn. – Superior Industries, Inc., a Minnesota-based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, announced today it finalized its intended acquisition of Belen, New Mexico-based, CEMCO, Inc. As part of the sale, Superior attained a 147,500-square-foot manufacturing facility in the heart of the American Southwest.

“This acquisition comes at a time when we’re responding to dealers and increasing manufacturing capacity,” says Jason Adams, president of Superior Industries. “The New Mexico facility will be the new home to all of Superior’s impact crushers, increase portable plant manufacturing by about 40%, and give us more room to strengthen stock of critical components.”

The Cemco™ VSI name and design aren’t going anywhere, says Superior, as the pioneering vertical shaft impactor is widely used and very popular in the production of cube-shaped aggregate. Going forward, the company will be rebranded as Superior Industries, but the Cemco VSI name will live on as a trademark for Superior’s VSI crushers.

“The facility is awesome, the VSI is a high-grade performer, but it’s those hard-working men and women of Belen, New Mexico, that we’re most blessed to have in our expanded company,” says Adams. “In fact, we want to double the amount of employees in Belen as soon as we can.”

Superior Adds Two New Cone Models to Crushing Portfolio

2023 New Superior Crushers - Dakota Cone and Endeavor Cone

Morris, Minn. – Superior Industries, Inc., a US-based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, debuted two new cone crushing models at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023. With the well-established Patriot® Cone Crusher, Superior now manufactures a Dakota™ Cone and Endeavor™ Cone. Each model has its own set of unique features, so aggregate producers get premium performance in a wide variety of applications.

“Instead of having to make a choice, we want to offer our customers a solution,” says Jason Adams, president of Superior. “From one manufacturer, aggregate producers now have three cone crusher options and can pick what’s right for their application, marketplace, and crews.”

The new Dakota Cone Crusher is a roller bearing design, which typically offers the most efficient use of horsepower per ton of crushed rock. Some features include a steel threaded bowl, one piece cast mainframe, a tramp relief system with fewer accumulators, and a hydraulically operated ant-spin system, which eliminates labor-intensive installation of individual gears.

Superior’s new Endeavor Cone is a spider bushing design. Historically, spider bushing cones accept the largest range of feed sizes and are known for simple operation and favorable maintenance. Other features include the strongest shaft style our industry has designed to date, which is supported on a cast top and cast bottom shell; top access chamber, which is safer to access and more simple to maintain; and multiple strokes and liner configurations for increased application flexibility.

With these two additions, Superior’s cone crushing products are capable of high performance in primary, secondary or tertiary applications and within portable or stationary settings. Maximum feed opening is up to 18-inches (450mm) with horsepower ranging from 200-800 (150-600 kW).

Design of New Portable Plant Extends Life of HSI Crusher Wear Parts

Morris, Minn. – Superior Industries, Inc., a US-based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, says its brand-new Portable Sentry® HSI Closed Circuit Plant is equipped with the ability to process recycled concrete, reclaimed asphalt, and pit run materials into valuable salable products. From a single feed, owners and operators will be able to produce up to four unique products.

The closed circuit crushing and screening arrangement includes a 4250 Superior brand Sentry® Horizontal Shaft Impactor (HSI). It’s fed by a 48×18 Intrepid Vibrating Grizzly Feeder, which is equipped with interchangeable grizzly cassettes (bars, fingers or punch plates) to accommodate multiple applications.

Additionally, a 2-deck Anthem® Inclined Screen screens up to three material sizes. Returning material is fed back to the HSI via a patent pending recirculating conveyor, which centralizes the feed for full utilization and extended wear life of the crushers blow bars. Onboard, the cross conveyors are universally designed to be interchangeable, which means owners invest in fewer conveyors since they can be mixed and matched throughout the plant.

“We’re a vertically integrated, single source designer and manufacturer of wheeled plants including all of the processing equipment, conveyors and components,” says Matt Voigt, the product manager for Superior’s portable plants. “This plant is 100% Superior, which allows us to fine tune and customize all the equipment and components for greater performance, improved portability, and easier maintenance.”

The plant is equipped to accommodate line power, but can also be outfitted with a diesel drive genset unit. Its transport weight, dimensions and axle configurations make it permissible for road travel throughout all of North America. Along with 250-tons of other products, Superior’s new Portable Sentry® HSI Closed Circuit Plant will be shown in Silver Lot booth #5006 at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023.

Superior Plans For 250-Tons of Display Product At CONEXPO-CON/AGG

Morris, Minn. – Superior Industries, Inc., a US-based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, is planning to showcase more than 250-tons of its products at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023. At least eight of the products will be brand-new and revealed for the first time at the show next spring in Las Vegas, Nevada.

For previous CONEXPO-CON/AGG attendees, Superior wants you to know about its new booth location for the 2023 edition of the show. The manufacturer is relocating from inside Central Hall to outside in the Silver Lot.

“Inside is climate-controlled and comfortable, but our equipment and our people were born to be in the great outdoors!” says Corey Poppe, Superior’s communications manager. “In addition to our massive display of equipment, we’re incorporating lots of fun elements that only work in the open air. Things like 20,000 square feet of artificial turf, grilling and grill giveaways, laid back patio-style seating, and maybe we’ll even roast a few marshmallows!”

Here’s a brief preview of some of the products Superior plans to showcase:

Expanded Cone Crusher Portfolio

Two brand-new cone models will be introduced and be shown alongside Superior’s trusted Patriot® Bushing Cone. First, the Dakota™ Bearing Cone, which will earn credibility for its efficient use of horsepower per ton, a straightforward lubrication system, and a wide range of liner profiles. The other new cone crusher will be called the Endeavor™ Spider Bushing Cone. Operationally, it’s an uncomplicated design that accepts a wide range of feed sizes with an adjustable stroke for fine tuning. Superior also plans to display its Liberty® Jaw, Valor® VSI, and Sentry® HSI crushers.

Designed to process in recycle applications, Superior’s says its brand-new Portable Sentry® HSI Closed Circuit Plant will get plenty of attention under the Vegas sun. It’s equipped with a patent pending recirculating conveyor, which centralizes the crusher feed for full utilization and extended wear life of the HSI’s blow bars. Other highlights include application-specific grizzly configurations, interchangeable cross conveyors, and screen media below the grizzly section.

New Quick to Erect Modular Wash PlantDownload Picture

According to Superior, its increasingly broad portfolio of Fusion® Modular Platforms are a good match for aggregate producers seeking semi-static plants that are easy to install and maintain with a more economical price tag than portable plants or design-build projects. On display, the company plans to erect a 8×20, 3-deck Guardian® Horizontal Wet Screen Fusion Platform with an Aggredry® Dewatering Screen attached to one of the discharge points.

Telescopic Stacker Builds 200,000-Ton StockpilesDownload Picture

In 2023, it will mark the eighth time Superior will display its famed TeleStacker® Conveyor at CONEXPO-CON/AGG — and each show there is new technology to showcase and new success stories to share. With radial travel, variable height and a telescopic conveyor, TeleStacker Conveyors stockpile material in a way that overcomes material segregation. This show, Superior will display a 42” x 170’ XTP Swing Axle model with a working automation panel that visitors can interact with in the booth.

Conveyor Components to Reduce Maintenance DutiesDownload Picture

Once again, Superior will display a wide variety of its own conveyor components. In fact, the manufacturer is planning to show more than three dozen individual idlers, pulleys, scrapers, and other conveyor accessories. New products include a redesigned line of Exterra® Belt Cleaners with some brand-new options, a modular Load Zone Skirting System for dust and spillage control, and unique Application-Specific Idler Bearing Seals for longer-lasting idlers in demanding conditions.

Superior Industries booth will be located in the Silver Lot, right inside what’s traditionally been known as the main entrance to the show. The booth number is S-5006. In the coming days, a set of web pages dedicated to presenting Superior’s experience at CONEPXO-CON/AGG.
