Cemco Acquisition Final, Superior Gains Significant Manufacturing Capacity

Morris, Minn. – Superior Industries, Inc., a Minnesota-based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, announced today it finalized its intended acquisition of Belen, New Mexico-based, CEMCO, Inc. As part of the sale, Superior attained a 147,500-square-foot manufacturing facility in the heart of the American Southwest.

“This acquisition comes at a time when we’re responding to dealers and increasing manufacturing capacity,” says Jason Adams, president of Superior Industries. “The New Mexico facility will be the new home to all of Superior’s impact crushers, increase portable plant manufacturing by about 40%, and give us more room to strengthen stock of critical components.”

The Cemco™ VSI name and design aren’t going anywhere, says Superior, as the pioneering vertical shaft impactor is widely used and very popular in the production of cube-shaped aggregate. Going forward, the company will be rebranded as Superior Industries, but the Cemco VSI name will live on as a trademark for Superior’s VSI crushers.

“The facility is awesome, the VSI is a high-grade performer, but it’s those hard-working men and women of Belen, New Mexico, that we’re most blessed to have in our expanded company,” says Adams. “In fact, we want to double the amount of employees in Belen as soon as we can.”

Job openings will be posted soon to “workatsuperior.com” and those interested in employment can reach out any time to [email protected]

In Tip Of Cap To Local Dealers, Superior Will Expand Plant In Arizona

press-release Prescott Vallkey AZ expansion 2023

Morris, Minn. – Superior Industries, Inc., a US-based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, recently announced expansion plans at its facility in Prescott Valley, Arizona. The company says it will add a fourth production line for manufacturing its equipment used in the construction aggregates and metals mining industries around the world.

“Our dealers in the region are growing rapidly and we need to increase production space so they can continue supporting their customers,” says Superior’s president, Jason Adams. “This isn’t possible without the hard work of Kimball Equipment Company or Power Equipment Company, and we definitely owe this to them!”

The expansion — which is expected to break ground later this year — will increase the size of Superior’s existing facility by 33-percent. It’s going to allow production of more conveyors, portable processing plants, and pre-engineered modular systems, which are all already manufactured inside the existing facility today.

“Our core purpose is building innovation that creates opportunity,” says Adams. “This new space will allow us to employ more people, help our dealers grow, and supply more American-made products to the region’s stone, sand and gravel companies.”

The Prescott Valley location was Superior’s first satellite manufacturing operations outside of its headquarters in Morris, Minnesota, and opened in 2006. Today, the local plant employs 135 people with about 10 current job openings to fill, which are listed at workatsuperior.com. Local managers say the expansion will create about 25 new jobs.

Superior Industries Seeks Distribution Partnerships at bauma 2019

Morris, Minn. USA — Superior Industries Inc., an American-based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, is seeking new relationships with construction equipment dealers and distributors at bauma 2019. Before the event, distribution representatives looking to meet with Superior at bauma are asked to complete an online form.

“Outside of the Americas, we’ve built successful distributor relationships in Australia, New Zealand, Russia and other regions,” says John Garrison, the manufacturer’s vice president of sales. “Our target at bauma will be dealers located in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).”

Late in 2016, Michael Dunne joined Superior as its first ever business development manager responsible for opportunities throughout the EMEA. The industry veteran – with experience inside Weir and Terex – has established a European-based entity for Superior and works closely with the manufacture’s product development team to establish design standards and unique features for the European market.

“At Superior, our dealers play a major role in our new product development process,” says Garrison. “We’re looking for partners who know their local market well and want to be served by a manufacturer who will custom design, build and relentlessly support equipment specific for the region and it’s dry bulk material producers.”

A dozen executives, product specialists and application experts will be available throughout the duration of bauma. Superior’s showcase will be located in Hall B2, stand 107.

Superior Industries To Significantly Increase Footprint at Bauma 2019

Morris, Minn. –Superior Industries Inc., an American-based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, says its presence at Bauma 2019 will be three-times larger than previous editions of the world’s largest trade show. Today, the builder of crushing, screening, washing and conveying equipment unveiled its display plans.

Inside Hall B2 at stand 107, Superior plans to showcase its brand new Alliance® Low Water Washer. The one-of-a-kind technology allows crushing operators to wash fines within their crushing circuit. It saves from transporting the fines to a separate wash site, which requires costly trucks and harmful re-handling of the material.

Available for production rates of 90 – 272 MTPH (100-300 TPH), the Alliance Low Water Washer accepts a dry feed from the crushing circuit. An agitator converts the material to a slurry before an integrated dewatering screen removes excess water, leaving as little as 8% moisture in the discharged manufactured sand. Superior says existing units have required as little 45-90 m3/hour of water (200-400 GPM), depending on production rates. That’s significantly less water consumption than a traditional screw or cyclone.

In addition to wet processing equipment, Superior is planning to showcase a group of conveyor components. Included in this display are:

Chevron® Pulley: Invented at Superior in 2007, this unique v-shaped wing pulley deflects oncoming rocks and other material, which prevents it from trapping between the pulley’s wings. No rocks in your pulleys means longer lasting conveyor belts and pulleys.

Moxie® Roll: Made from a composite blend, this steel alternative idler sheds sticky material to maintain properly tracked conveyor belts. The rolls are 50% lighter and at least three times quieter than steel.

High Performance DT Idler: For improved performance in high capacity applications, the double tube (DT) design features inner and outer tube construction for increased rigidly and better bearing insulation.

Exterra® SFL Dual Belt Cleaner: This one-of-a-kind conveyor belt cleaning solution is a primary and secondary scraper sharing one mounting pole. This allows for quick, uncomplicated installation. Tension is set just once – at installation – and automatically maintained for the life of the blade.

In addition to these products, Superior plans to showcase videos and presentations of all its products including crushing, screening, washing and conveying equipment for bulk processing and handling of materials in quarries, mines, and marine and rail terminals. A dozen product and applications experts will be available throughout the duration of the bauma.

Superior Introduces Two New Track-Mounted Conveying Solutions

Morris, Minn. –
Superior Industries Inc., a U.S. based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, says it’s ready to debut two new tracked conveyor models. Joining the manufacturer’s top-selling line of portable conveying solutions are a 75-foot (23m) tracked stacker and an 8-by-16-foot (2.4 x 4.9m) tracked feed hopper.

Following Superior’s reputation for heavy-duty designs, the tracked stacker will be one of the heaviest models available in its class at 34,000 pounds (15,420 kg). Each stacker is capable of handing up to 1,000 TPH (907 MTPH), while hydraulic power controls the tracks, folds, and discharge height. Cross-bracing designed and built into the undercarriage of the tracked stacker ensures structural rigidity and stable track travel.

The 8×16 tracked portable feed hopper processes up to 800 TPH (725 MTPH) from an 8-cubic-yard, reinforced hopper. A bi-directionally dumping grizzly is equipped with adjustable grizzly bars and can be tilted at one of five preset angles. The hopper’s drive and backstop are hydraulically-controlled in addition to the discharge conveyor’s fold and raise features.

Both the stacker and the feed hopper are equipped with Superior brand conveyor components like off-the-shelf idlers, pulleys and Exterra® Primary Belt Cleaners. Several units are now in stock and available for immediate delivery from Superior or one of its many conveying equipment dealers.
