Challenge
It was turning out to be a project that needed tending to every three to four months. Whether it was the belt causing the wear or the material it carried, Knife River’s rubber-disc returns were grinding away too quickly.

Solution
Since replacing the unreliable rubber-discs with Superior’s Urathon return rolls the return on their investment has been hard to ignore. From flat spots to belt damage, the problems associated with the old rolls have been eliminated. Not to mention maintenance inspections have been drastically reduced. At last check, after more than a year in service, the Urathon return rolls at three of Kinfe River’s North Dakota locations have shown little and in most cases no wear.
