Russell Redi-Mix; Saskatchewan, Canada

Industry
Aggregate Production

Location
Manitoba/Saskatchewan, Canada

Products
- (1) 36″ x 130′ TeleStacker® Conveyor
- (2)  36″ x 150′ TeleStacker Conveyors
- RazerTail® Truck Unloader

Project Objectives
Maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace while retaining extreme portability, expanding existing territory boundaries and remaining profitable.

Challenge
While Russell Redi-Mix’s larger crushing spread relocates bi-monthly, the operation’s smaller spread moves every two weeks, in and out of a number of municipal-owned pits in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Solution
Russel Redi-Mix claims it is their TeleStacker conveyor’s patented FD axle assembly that proved to be the biggest advantage. Raise the travel wheels, lower the operating tires and their unit is transferred from transport to working mode in just minutes.

Quote
Maintenance production superintendent, Sam Brown, estimates that even several years ago, operating costs for just one loader exceeded $140,000 per year. With that figure in mind, he said his first TeleStacker Conveyor was paid for in less than 18 months. “No other piece of equipment delivers that kind of positive return and a payback time that is that fast,” he said.
