Big Joe Turner was first to record the rock and roll hit “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” but Bill Haley and His Comets later sang it more successfully. Since the chart topping success way back in 1954 nothing else has been able to compare to the shake, rattle and roll like wing style conveyor pulleys. Just like your dad, neighbors are pleading with quarry operators to “turn that racket down!”

TXI’s Streetman, Texas plant has more conveyor belting than the typical aggregate plant — and last year, the shale operation was wearing out idler cans constantly. “I could literally have a team doing nothing else but replacing idler rolls during each shift,” said plant manager Wynne Stallcop. Eventually, he started pressing his maintenance team for ideas on what could be done to extend idler life.

Last week, we splashed into bauma 2013 to debut two brand new mobile conveyors for dry bulk truck unload, barge/ship load and stockpiling. Launching these products to the market allows us to take a huge step forward in our quest to become the leader in mobile conveying solutions for bulk terminal customers around the world.

To date, transferring a swing axle TeleStacker Conveyor from road to radial travel positions involved a series of time consuming steps. Today, we launch a brand new design we’re calling the Swing Axle XTP. While it performs the same functions as the original swing axle design, our engineers cut out 80% of the time it takes to transition the telescoping unit from road to pit ready positions.

We like to invent new products at Superior!
